I’ve been a lawyer for 32 years, and I’ve spent nearly all of them doing one thing: solving IRS problems for people and businesses in Tampa Bay. I opened my practice here in 1998, and I’ve been across the table from the IRS ever since — in audits, in collections, in appeals, and in the United States Tax Court, where I’m admitted to practice.

Before tax law, I was a public defender. That work teaches you two things that never leave: how to fight for someone the government is coming after, and how to give people straight answers when they’re scared. Both translate directly to IRS work.

The Record

Over the years my office has resolved more than $100 million in IRS tax debt through offers in compromise, installment agreements, penalty abatement, currently not collectible status, collection due process hearings, trust fund recovery penalty defense, and bankruptcy discharge. I hold an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and I’m a member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers. I’m licensed in Florida, Colorado, and Texas.

Why Tampa Matters

IRS problems are federal, but they get resolved locally. I know the Tampa IRS office and the people in it. I know how the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division handles tax bankruptcies. And I know the Florida laws — homestead, tenancy by the entireties, retirement protections — that give Hillsborough County taxpayers real leverage most national tax-relief outfits never use, because they don’t know they exist.

When you call, you’re not getting a salesperson or a case manager. You’re getting a Tampa lawyer who has done this work in this city for over 25 years.
